Human Design and Work
The calculator builds a Human Design chart and reads it for work: how you are meant to work according to your type, how to make work decisions, what role your profile plays in a team, what your life’s work is about, where your strengths lie and where it pays to be more careful.
You need the date, time and place of birth: the profile, the lines of the cross and the work environment depend on the time. If the time is unknown, clear the field and the chart will be calculated for noon. Longitude and UTC offset are needed only if your city is not on the list.
What the Calculation Shows
- How you work — type and strategy read for work: where your working energy comes from and how to take on tasks.
- Work decisions — your authority: how to say yes to projects, positions and deals.
- Role in a team — both lines of your profile: the role you usually play among colleagues.
- Life’s work — the Incarnation Cross and the gates of the Sun and Earth with their lines: the main theme that brings satisfaction.
- Strengths and pitfalls — defined and open centers at work.
- Team functions and business channels — which of the 12 work functions you have, and your channels of money and agreements.
- Work environment — the Environment variable, if the exact birth time is known.
How it is calculated
The chart is the same as in the main Human Design calculation: 26 Personality and Design activations, 9 centers, channels, type, authority, profile and cross. What differs is the reading: each element is described in terms of work and career.
The system has a separate business branch, BG5, which names the types and centers in its own way and analyzes careers using a closed method. This calculator is not BG5 and is not affiliated with it: it is our own reading of the general Human Design chart, interpreted for work.

An Honest Look at the Method
Human Design is a modern system that Ra Uru Hu described in 1987. Its rules are precisely defined and therefore calculable, but none of them has been tested as a way to describe a person or predict how relationships will turn out. We calculate by the system’s rules and write the interpretations as a description of what the system holds, not as knowledge about you. More on the system’s origins is on the Human Design page.
Frequently asked questions
Can the chart tell me which profession to choose?
Not directly. In the system, the chart describes how you are meant to work and make decisions; it does not name a profession. The system advises choosing a specific job according to your own strategy and authority.
How is this different from BG5?
BG5 is a separate business branch with a closed method and its own terminology. Here you get the general Human Design chart, read for work in our own words.
What is the Environment variable?
One of the four variables in the chart: in the system, it describes the place where a person does best — for example, “kitchens”, “markets” or “mountains”. It is calculated from the exact birth time.
Can I do it without a birth time?
Yes: the chart will be calculated for noon. The type and most channels are usually correct, but the profile, the lines of the cross and the work environment may differ — this is noted in the result.
