Libra Horoscope for Today
A horoscope for Libra (September 23 – October 22) based on the actual positions of the planets. Its main part is the Moon: it moves into a new sign every two to three days and sets the theme of the day. The other planets move more slowly and show the background for the month and the year.
The Moon
Until 5:40 PM: in Libra, 1st house; from 5:40 PM: in Scorpio, 2nd house.
Until 5:40 PM. The Moon is passing through your sign. By tradition, your own well-being, appearance and personal wishes come to the fore. A good time to take the initiative and focus on yourself; emotions are also closer to the surface than usual.
From 5:40 PM. The Moon is in the 2nd house, the house of money and possessions. By tradition, attention shifts to practical matters: purchases, spending, earnings, whatever gives you a sense of security. A good day to go over your budget, and a bad one for impulse buys.
Times shown are New York time (US Eastern, UTC−5). Planetary positions are from the JPL DE421 ephemeris. Houses are counted from the sign: the sign itself is the 1st house, the next one is the 2nd, and so on. Interpretations follow the rules of tradition; the text is the same for everyone of the same sign.
The other planets
- Sun — in Scorpio, 2nd house
The Sun in the 2nd house: a month of money. By tradition, the focus is on earnings, possessions and whatever you rely on.
- Mercury — in Scorpio, 2nd house retrograde
Mercury in the 2nd house: business talk centers on money, prices, deals and calculations.
Mercury is retrograde right now. By tradition, this is a time to review and redo: old issues and people come back, and new contracts, trips and tech purchases are best planned with room to spare.
- Venus — in Libra, 1st house sign ruler retrograde
Venus in your sign: by tradition, a time of charm, attention to your looks and luck in matters of attraction.
Venus is retrograde right now. By tradition, a time to return to past relationships and spending; anything new — a romance, big purchases, a wedding — is best started after it turns direct.
- Mars — in Leo, 11th house
Mars in the 11th house: activity in groups and communities, but also arguments with friends.
- Jupiter — in Leo, 11th house
Jupiter in the 11th house: a year of friends and patrons, rewarding communities and plans that come true.
- Saturn — in Aries, 7th house retrograde
Saturn in the 7th house: relationships and contracts are tested for strength — by tradition, they either grow stronger or come to an end.
Saturn is retrograde right now — for about four and a half months a year. By tradition, a time to go back to unfinished obligations.
Houses for Libra
In a horoscope by sign, your sign counts as the 1st house, the one after it as the 2nd, and so on around the circle. For example, for Libra a planet in Aries is in the 7th house, the house of partnership. Here are all the houses for Libra:
| House | Sign | Area of life |

Ruling planet
The ruler of Libra is Venus. By tradition, its position shows how Libra's relationships and agreements are going: Venus in the angular houses — the 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th — is considered strong, and a retrograde Venus is a time to return to past relationships rather than start new ones.
How to read this horoscope
The Moon is the day: look at which house it is in and whether it changes sign. The Sun shows the theme of the month (in the 1st house, your birthday month); Mercury, Venus and Mars set the background for several weeks, Jupiter and Saturn for a year or more.
Event times are shown by your device's clock, adjusted for your time zone. The “Yesterday” and “Tomorrow” buttons show the neighboring days.
This text is the same for everyone born under Libra — that is how a horoscope by sign works, and it has no proven predictive power. For an individual picture, see transits to your birth chart; for the character of the sign, see the Libra page.
