Privacy Policy
How Calcumancy handles data. In short: calculations run in your browser, and the data you enter is not sent to the server. The one exception is the AI chart reading, which only runs when you press its button; see below.
Calculation Data
The date of birth, name, phone number or apartment number you enter into the calculators is processed locally, by your browser. This data is not sent to the server, not stored in a database and not shared with third parties.
This isn't a promise but a consequence of how the site is built: all the formulas run on your device. You can verify this by opening your browser's developer tools and looking at the network requests during a calculation.
The data you enter does not go into the page address, so you can forward the address without sharing your calculation. To keep the calculation when you reload the page, it is stored in the memory of this browser tab (sessionStorage) until the tab is closed.
A link with your data comes only from the “Copy link” button, and only if you choose “With data”: then the data sits in the link after the “#” sign, and the browser does not send this part to the server. When you move from one calculator to another (the full calculation, links from saved charts), the data is passed through your browser’s storage (localStorage) and erased as soon as the page opens. Your saved charts are kept in your browser's storage (localStorage) and do not leave your device either.
Your place of birth is looked up in a database of towns and villages hosted on this site. Your browser downloads the file of places for the first two or three letters you type and picks the matches itself: the server sees only those letters in the file name, not the full place name.
Map and address search
On the “House Facing from a Map” page, the map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap servers — only after you press “Open map.” These servers can see your IP address and the part of the map you are viewing; this is how any online map works. Address search sends the text you type to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim service — only when you press “Search.” How these services handle data is described in the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
The house coordinates and the facing direction are not sent to the map: they stay in your browser.
AI chart reading
Below the calculator results there is an “Explain…” button — for example, “Explain my result” or “Explain the spread”; on the BaZi page it reads “Read my chart.” Only after you press it is the result sent to our server and from there to the DeepSeek AI model, which writes the interpretation. For BaZi and Saju this is the calculated chart — pillars, elements, Ten Gods, interactions, luck pillars and annual pillars; for the other calculators it is the result as shown on the page. Before sending, we remove the birth date, time and place, name and numbers you entered. Instead of your date of birth, the AI model learns only your age in years (on some calculators, your year of birth), so that it doesn't get your age wrong, and for BaZi and Saju your gender as well. On the name meaning page, the name itself is sent: it is exactly what is being interpreted. Today's date from your device is sent along with the result, so that the AI model doesn't confuse “now” with “this year.” But from the calculation itself — the chart, the positions of the planets, the step-by-step adding up of the digits of a date or the letters of a name — the birth date can sometimes be worked out, and a letter-by-letter breakdown still contains the letters of the name. Questions you ask about the result travel the same way, together with the reading and earlier answers.
DeepSeek is a service of the Chinese companies Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence and Beijing DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence, and its servers are located in China. How it handles the texts it receives is described in the DeepSeek privacy policy. So please do not include names, contact details or anything else that could identify you in your questions.
Our server does not store the chart, the reading or your questions: they exist only on the open page and disappear when you reload it. To limit the number of requests, the server remembers your IP address and the times of your requests for one hour, and its technical log records the IP address and the request address — without the content.
Technical Data
Like any website, we may collect anonymized visit statistics: which pages are opened, from which devices, and which search queries bring people here. This data cannot be used to identify a person.
In addition, the site counts visits itself, on its own server in Russia, without cookies or third-party services. After a page opens, the browser sends the server its address (without the calculation data), the language, the site you came from and how many seconds the page was open on screen, and, when you press the “Calculate” or “Analyze” buttons or ask the AI a question, the name of the action. Only daily totals are stored: how many times a page was opened, from which kind of device (phone or computer), and how long a visit lasts on average. The IP address is not stored; to count the number of visitors per day, the server keeps an anonymized fingerprint (hash) of the IP address and browser name for no more than two days: the IP address cannot be recovered from it, and it is not matched against fingerprints from other days.
The Russian-language version of the site uses Yandex Metrica: it counts visits and uses cookies to do so. You can opt out by blocking cookies in your browser or by installing the Metrica opt-out add-on. The other language versions use Google Analytics 4, but only if the visitor clicks “Accept” in the cookie notice: until then the tracking code is not loaded. Both services receive only the page address, and it contains none of the data you enter: the page removes the data of a shared link from the address before the counters load. Visitor sessions are not recorded. You can change your Google Analytics cookie choice using this link.
Your Rights
You can request information about what data we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Since we don't store calculation data, such a request usually concerns only technical statistics.
Requests can be sent via the contact page.
Changes
The current version of the policy is published on this page. When there are significant changes, we indicate the date of the last update.
Last updated: October 2026 — we clarified that the AI model learns your age, gender and today's date; the data you enter no longer goes into the page address, and a link with it comes only from the “Copy link” button.
This page is part of a prototype; the live version will contain the full legal text, naming the data controller and the legal grounds for processing.
