8th House
The eighth house is the house of crises and other people's resources: shared money, inheritance, debts, and the themes of death and transformation.
What the House Rules
The eighth house rules what a person receives from others rather than earns: inheritance, loans, a partner's money, taxes, insurance. Its second theme is irreversible change and crisis.
In the tradition it is one of the "dark" houses, but modern astrology reads it as an area of depth and renewal.
Planets in the House
Pluto and Mars in the eighth house intensify crises and an interest in the hidden. Venus means money through a partner. Jupiter means an inheritance or luck with shared finances. Saturn means heavy obligations and debts.
The theme of death is overblown in popular astrology: classical texts did associate it with the eighth house, but serious astrologers don't make predictions of that kind.
Sign on the Cusp and an Empty House
The sign on the cusp describes one's attitude toward other people's resources and toward crises.
If you're worried about your own future because of this house, remember one simple thing: there is no evidence of any link between a chart and life expectancy.
