2nd House
The second house is the house of personal resources: money a person earns themselves, possessions, and whatever they consider valuable.

The second house rules income, belongings, self-worth in the material sense, and one's attitude toward ownership. Classical astrology reads it literally: how much comes in and how.
It also covers talents as "inner capital": what a person has at their disposal and can put to use.
Planets in the House
Jupiter in the second house traditionally means ease with money, Saturn the need to earn through hard work and a tendency to save, Uranus an unstable income.
Venus here strengthens the desire for beautiful things, Mars the willingness to take risks with money.
Sign on the Cusp and an Empty House
The sign on the cusp sets the style of handling money: Taurus means accumulation, Gemini several sources of income, Pisces vagueness and debts.
An empty second house does not mean poverty; in that case money questions are judged by the house ruler and by Jupiter and Saturn.
