9th House
The ninth house is the house of distant horizons: higher education, philosophy, faith, foreign lands, and everything that broadens your picture of the world.
What the House Rules
The ninth house rules beliefs, long-distance travel, foreign languages and cultures, teaching, law, and publishing.
If the third house is the near exchange of information, the ninth is the far one: not "what's happening nearby" but "how the world works."
Planets in the House
Jupiter in the ninth house is at home: a pull toward learning, travel, and meaning. Mercury means teaching and working with texts. Saturn means late education or a rigid belief system. Uranus means an abrupt change of worldview.
Sign on the Cusp and an Empty House
The sign on the cusp describes the nature of one's beliefs: Pisces religiosity, Aquarius scientific skepticism, Taurus practicality.
An empty ninth house does not prevent getting an education; this is the most common conclusion people get wrong.
