Planetary positions
| Sun | Scorpio | |
| Moon | Libra | in Scorpio from 5:40 PM |
| Mercury | Scorpio | retrograde |
| Venus | Libra | retrograde |
| Mars | Leo | |
| Jupiter | Leo | |
| Saturn | Aries | retrograde |
Times shown are New York time (US Eastern, UTC−5). Planetary positions are from the JPL DE421 ephemeris. Houses are counted from the sign: the sign itself is the 1st house, the next one is the 2nd, and so on. Interpretations follow the rules of tradition; the text is the same for everyone of the same sign.
The Moon by sign
| Sign | Moon's house | Focus of the day |
|---|---|---|
| Aries | 7 → 8 | shared money and change |
| Taurus | 6 → 7 | partners and contracts |
| Gemini | 5 → 6 | work and health |
| Cancer | 4 → 5 | love, children, creativity |
| Leo | 3 → 4 | home and family |
| Virgo | 2 → 3 | communication and short trips |
| Libra | 1 → 2 | money and possessions |
| Scorpio | 12 → 1 | self and well-being |
| Sagittarius | 11 → 12 | rest and solitude |
| Capricorn | 10 → 11 | friends and plans |
| Aquarius | 9 → 10 | career and reputation |
| Pisces | 8 → 9 | long journeys and study |
From 5:40 PM the Moon is in Scorpio, so the Moon's house changes for every sign during this day; the focus shown is for after the change.
Weekly, monthly and yearly horoscopes
The same planets and the same rules, just over a longer period: sign changes, retrograde periods, New and Full Moons, eclipses and exact aspects, and for each sign — love, work, money, health and the best days.
How it is calculated
Planetary positions are taken from the JPL DE421 ephemeris — the tables astronomers use to calculate the motion of the planets. The moment a planet enters a new sign is known to within a minute or two.
Then the rule of solar houses comes in, which almost all sign horoscopes are built on: your sign is the 1st house, the next one is the 2nd, and so on around the circle. If the Moon is in Libra, it is in the 7th house for Aries, in the 2nd for Virgo, and in the 1st for Libra itself. Each house has its own area of life, and the interpretation “Moon in the 7th house” comes from these rules rather than being written anew every day.
The Moon moves into a new sign every two to three days, which is why it is the Moon that makes a horoscope “for today.” The Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars change signs every few weeks, Jupiter once a year, Saturn once every two and a half years: that is the background.
Dates and event times are shown by your device's clock: the page recalculates them for your time zone on its own.

Why sign horoscopes seem accurate
The Barnum effect is at work. In an experiment Bertram Forer described in 1948, students received identical text taken from an astrology book and rated its accuracy at 4.3 out of 5 on average.
The phrases are built to fit almost everyone: "Today you may feel some tension in your communication, but by evening things will become clearer." There is no claim here that could be tested and disproved.
The second mechanism is confirmation bias: predictions that come true are remembered, and those that don't are forgotten.
An honest take on the genre
A horoscope by sign is the crudest level of astrology: it takes into account only the position of the Sun at birth and is the same for one in every twelve people on Earth. Most horoscopes of this kind in the media are written by editors, in advance and in batches — which is why we didn't publish one until now.
Here there is nothing to invent: the planetary positions are verifiable astronomy, and the interpretations are fixed rules of the tradition, the same every time the position is the same. Every page shows what its text is assembled from.
These rules have no proven predictive power. If you want an individual reading, it is more accurate to look at transits to your own birth chart; if you want a verifiable daily guide, try the lunar calendar.
