Sagittarius Horoscope for Today
A horoscope for Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21) based on the actual positions of the planets. Its main part is the Moon: it moves into a new sign every two to three days and sets the theme of the day. The other planets move more slowly and show the background for the month and the year.
The Moon
Until 5:40 PM: in Libra, 11th house; from 5:40 PM: in Scorpio, 12th house.
Until 5:40 PM. The Moon is in the 11th house, the house of friends and hopes. By tradition, this is a day for groups, like-minded people and plans for the future: getting together with friends, shared projects, communities. A good time to ask for support.
From 5:40 PM. The Moon is in the 12th house, the house of solitude. Tradition considers this house difficult: the day is best spent quietly — finishing what you have started, resting, spending time alone. Your energy is lower than usual, so tradition advises putting off important new beginnings until the Moon moves into your sign.
Times shown are New York time (US Eastern, UTC−5). Planetary positions are from the JPL DE421 ephemeris. Houses are counted from the sign: the sign itself is the 1st house, the next one is the 2nd, and so on. Interpretations follow the rules of tradition; the text is the same for everyone of the same sign.
The other planets
- Sun — in Scorpio, 12th house
The Sun in the 12th house: the last month before your birthday. By tradition, a time to take stock, rest and get ready for a new cycle.
- Mercury — in Scorpio, 12th house retrograde
Mercury in the 12th house: thoughts turn inward — a time for reflection, journaling and behind-the-scenes work.
Mercury is retrograde right now. By tradition, this is a time to review and redo: old issues and people come back, and new contracts, trips and tech purchases are best planned with room to spare.
- Venus — in Libra, 11th house retrograde
Venus in the 11th house: friendly gatherings, useful connections, small wishes coming true.
Venus is retrograde right now. By tradition, a time to return to past relationships and spending; anything new — a romance, big purchases, a wedding — is best started after it turns direct.
- Mars — in Leo, 9th house
Mars in the 9th house: energy for travel, study and arguments over beliefs.
- Jupiter — in Leo, 9th house sign ruler
Jupiter in the 9th house is in one of its best placements: a year of long journeys, study, publications and a new view of the world.
- Saturn — in Aries, 5th house retrograde
Saturn in the 5th house: by tradition, less lightness in love and fun, more responsibility for children and your own pursuits.
Saturn is retrograde right now — for about four and a half months a year. By tradition, a time to go back to unfinished obligations.

Ruling planet
The ruler of Sagittarius is Jupiter. It goes around the circle in twelve years, spending roughly a year in each sign, so for Sagittarius it sets the main background of the year. Tradition considers the years when Jupiter is in the angular houses — the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th — especially lucky for Sagittarius.
How to read this horoscope
The Moon is the day: look at which house it is in and whether it changes sign. The Sun shows the theme of the month (in the 1st house, your birthday month); Mercury, Venus and Mars set the background for several weeks, Jupiter and Saturn for a year or more.
Event times are shown by your device's clock, adjusted for your time zone. The “Yesterday” and “Tomorrow” buttons show the neighboring days.
This text is the same for everyone born under Sagittarius — that is how a horoscope by sign works, and it has no proven predictive power. For an individual picture, see transits to your birth chart; for the character of the sign, see the Sagittarius page.
