Pisces Ascendant
The Pisces Ascendant is the rising sign that describes your appearance, your manner and the first impression you make. Element: water; modality: mutable; chart ruler: Jupiter (modern ruler: Neptune).
Appearance and manner
A Pisces Ascendant gives a soft, "floating" appearance: large, moist or dreamy eyes, delicate features and fluid movements. These people often look defenceless and change with their surroundings, like chameleons.
You approach anything new through feeling: what is it like here, what is the atmosphere, what does your intuition say? You adapt easily and blend into your surroundings. Harshness and rudeness hurt you more than they hurt others.
How others see you
People see you as kind, gentle and understanding: it is easy to talk to you about intimate things. You are considered creative and sensitive. Sometimes you are seen as absent-minded, indecisive or elusive.
Strengths and traps
Your strength is empathy, imagination and intuition. You make an excellent artist, musician, psychologist, doctor or helper. The trap is blurred boundaries, escaping difficulties into daydreams and taking on other people's pain.
Chart ruler
The traditional ruler of the Ascendant is Jupiter; the modern one is Neptune. Jupiter shows where you grow and find meaning; Neptune shows where inspiration and dreams lie, and where you are easily deceived. Read the sign and house of both.
The house where the ruler sits is the area of life through which the Ascendant expresses itself: in the 2nd house it is money, in the 7th partnership, in the 10th career. The Ascendant calculator will show where yours is.
Descendant in Virgo
Descendant in Virgo: you need a practical, attentive, caring partner who will help you bring order to things and keep your feet on the ground. Relationships teach you to discern and to choose.
How to make the most of your Ascendant
A Pisces Ascendant thrives on creativity, music, water and solitude. It helps to shield yourself from other people's emotions with simple rituals: time alone after socialising, and a clear "no" when you are running low.
The Ascendant is not the whole person. It blends with your Sun sign and your Moon sign: a Pisces Ascendant with the Sun in a water sign, for example, will be softer, and with the Sun in a fire sign, brighter. The description above is the base on which the other planets are layered.
Find your Ascendant
The Ascendant depends on your exact time and place of birth: on average it changes sign every two hours. You can check whether yours really is in Pisces with the Ascendant calculator.
