Libra
Libra is the zodiac sign for people born between September 23 and October 22. Element: air; modality: cardinal; ruling planet: Venus. The cusp dates shift by a day from year to year, so if you were born near a cusp, check your sign with the calculator.
Personality
Libra is the sign of balance and relationships. Librans see a situation from both sides, know how to smooth things over and genuinely don't understand why anyone would fight when they could come to an agreement.
Strengths: tact, a sense of fairness, taste, the ability to bring people together.
Weaknesses: indecisiveness and conflict avoidance. Librans put off unpleasant choices until the last moment and sometimes fake agreement where there is none.
The Gemini man and woman
The Libra man is charming and attentive and values beauty and harmony; he avoids direct pressure.
The Libra woman is diplomatic and attractive; she cares about both the relationship and how it looks from the outside.
Career and money
Work with people and aesthetics suits them: law, diplomacy, HR, design, consulting, mediation, the arts.
Librans spend money on beauty and comfort; strict budgeting is hard for them, and they tend to put off financial decisions.
Compatibility
Traditionally, the easiest matches are signs of the same element and of compatible elements; for Libra these are Gemini, Leo, Sagittarius and Aquarius.
The most challenging are signs in square and in adjacent positions: Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio and Capricorn. The opposite sign is Aries: strong attraction and an equally strong struggle.
These are general rules of aspects, not a verdict. Each pair is covered separately in zodiac compatibility.
The sign in the birth chart
Your Sun sign is just the position of the Sun at the moment of birth. A full birth chart also includes the sign of the Moon (emotions), the Ascendant (first impression) and the positions of the other planets.
That's why a person may "not seem like an Aries": they have an Aries Sun, a Cancer Moon and a Libra Ascendant, and what comes across is nothing like a Martian manner. Horoscopes in the media work only with the Sun sign, hence the feeling that they aren't about you.
