Gate 62 — Details

Gate 62, “Details,” is a Throat Center gate. Below: what it means according to the Human Design system, its six lines, the channel it belongs to and when the Sun passes through it. The chart calculator will show whether you have it.

Meaning of Gate 62

A Throat Center gate tied to expressing facts and details. It gives precise wording and the ability to explain point by point; the trap is drowning in details and losing the meaning.

In the system, a gate is always at work if it is active in the chart — at the moment of birth (Personality) or about 88 days before it (Design). If the other gate of its channel is also active, the channel is defined, and the theme of the gate becomes part of the person’s consistent energy.

Where the Gate Sits

  • Center: Throat Center.
  • I Ching hexagram: hexagram 62, Xiao Guo.
  • Position on the wheel: from 20°45′ Cancer to 26°22′30″ Cancer.
  • The Sun in Gate 62: roughly from July 13 to 19 (the dates shift by a day from year to year).
  • Neighbors on the wheel: Gate 53 comes before it, Gate 56 after it.

The Six Lines of Gate 62

Each gate is divided into six lines. The line shows how the gate's theme plays out in a particular person; in the chart it is written after the dot — for example, 62.4.

  • Line 1: Not Taking Off Too Soon. The first line holds more confidently to tested facts than to bold generalizations. In the system, its strength is a precise working-out of the basics; the trap is aiming at big conclusions while the details haven't been gathered yet.
  • Line 2: A Roundabout Way. The second line doesn't always reach the person in charge, but it unerringly finds the right person to get the job done. Knowing its place and a natural attention to small things are thought to make it indispensable wherever care is needed.
  • Line 3: Careless About Small Things. The third line learns from experience that a missed detail can turn into a big problem. Mistakes teach it caution and attention to what is easy to miss; the trap is becoming suspicious of everything after a failure.
  • Line 4: A Restrained Step. The fourth line knows how to stop in time and not go further than the situation allows. In the system, its precise remarks are useful to its circle when it doesn't impose them and waits to be asked.
  • Line 5: Clouds Without Rain. The fifth line is expected to produce concrete solutions while the conditions for them are not yet ripe. In the system, it helps to find knowledgeable people and rely on their experience; the risk is promising a result before the facts allow it.
  • Line 6: Flying Past the Mark. The sixth line sees how easy it is to overshoot the right point and lose touch with the work. Its example is thought to be appropriateness: saying no more than the facts require and not reaching higher than the situation can bear.

Channels

Gate 62 is one half of a channel. A channel is defined when both of its gates are active — in one person or, in a couple, across two people.

  • Channel 17-62 “Acceptance” — the partner gate is 17 “Opinions” in the Ajna. The channel gives the ability to put ideas in order and build detailed explanations. Such a person's opinions are thought to be valuable when they are asked for, and the details serve the big picture.

All the channels are on the channels page, and Human Design compatibility shows what arises between the charts of two people.

An Honest Look at the Method
