Mannaz
Mannaz is the twentieth rune, sound “m.” Literally “man,” in the sense of a human being.
Upright Position
The human being: you yourself, your kin, the people around you. Mannaz shifts the question from circumstances to people and says the outcome depends on the human factor — on your behavior, on someone’s help, on how others see you. The rune advises looking at yourself from the outside and turning to others rather than handling everything alone.
Reversed Position
Loneliness, alienation, a hostile environment. A reversed Mannaz also speaks of self-deception — you don’t see yourself the way others see you — and of an unreliable person nearby.
In love and at work
In relationships, the upright rune means understanding and human warmth; reversed, it means alienation and being lonely together. At work — the team, reputation, recommendations, relations with management.
The rune’s advice
Ask the opinion of people you trust and compare it honestly with your own. Right now a lot depends on how you behave with people.
