Card of the Day
The Card of the Day is a single card drawn in the morning to set the tone for the day. It is the simplest tarot format: it needs no spread layout and suits anyone who is just starting out.
How It Works
You press the button, and the generator picks one of the 78 cards and decides its position — upright or reversed. Each time the card is drawn from the full deck, so pressing again may give you the same one. But there is no point in redrawing until a pleasant card comes up: the card of the day is one per day.
You don't have to phrase a question: the Card of the Day answers the general “what should I pay attention to today.”
How to read it
Don't try to predict events with it. The Card of the Day works differently: it gives you a frame through which you look at the day.
Drew the Eight of Pentacles? Look at what you do with your hands and how carefully you do it. Drew The Moon? Notice where you fill in the blanks instead of asking.
In the evening it helps to come back and check where the card fit. That is how, over a couple of weeks, you build your own understanding of the deck — much faster than from reference books.
Tip for beginners
Make a habit of writing down the Card of the Day in one line: date, card, what happened. In a month you will have your own dictionary of meanings, and it will prove more accurate than any ready-made one.
The meanings of all the cards are in the list of 78 cards.
