Laguz
Laguz is the twenty-first rune, sound “l.” Literally “water,” “lake.”
Upright Position
Flow, feeling, intuition. Laguz says the situation is in flux and advises not resisting its direction: right now it is better to feel than to calculate. The rune is linked to water in every sense — travel by water, fluidity, the unconscious, whatever can’t be grasped with your hands.
Reversed Position
Fear, disorientation, false intuition. A reversed Laguz means you are being swept along: decisions are made on emotion, and you have lost your footing. Sometimes — false hopes and self-deception in matters of the heart.
In love and at work
In relationships, the upright rune means deep feeling and trusting your instincts; reversed, it means emotional confusion and fear. At work — flexibility, intuitive decisions, working with people and their moods; for calculations and precise work, the rune is weak.
The rune’s advice
Trust your feelings, but hold on to something solid: double-check important decisions with a clear head so as not to give in to fear or self-deception.
