Wunjo
Wunjo is the eighth rune, sound “w.” Literally “joy.”
Upright Position
Joy, satisfaction, getting what you wished for. Wunjo says the matter will end well and bring not only a result but pleasure too. It often points to recognition among your own people and a sense that you are where you belong. One of the most favorable runes of the Futhark.
Reversed Position
Disappointment, joy postponed, a feeling that “this isn’t it.” A reversed Wunjo doesn’t mean misfortune, but rather emptiness after anticipation: you got it, but didn’t feel it. Sometimes — the wrong company.
In love and at work
In relationships, the upright rune means a happy period and being in sync; reversed, cooling off and boredom. At work — success that makes you happy; for the question “is it worth it?” the rune answers directly.
The rune’s advice
Allow yourself to enjoy what has worked out, and stick with your people. If the joy doesn’t come, check whether this is what you really wanted.
