Isa
Isa is the eleventh rune, sound “i.” Literally “ice.” It is symmetrical and has no reversed position.
Meaning
Standstill and freezing. Isa says that nothing is moving right now, and this state has to be accepted rather than broken: the ice melts on its own. The rune is neither evil nor good — it is a neutral pause. It often points to feelings cooling, a matter put on hold, the impossibility of deciding anything right now. As advice: don’t push, wait for the thaw, use the pause to look at the situation from the outside.
In love and at work
In relationships, Isa means coldness, distance, a person who has gone silent; pressure right now turns the ice into a wall. At work — a freeze on a project, a budget, hiring. For the question “should I start?” the answer is no, not now.
The rune’s advice
Accept the standstill and don’t waste energy trying to move what is frozen. Do things that don’t require movement: preparation, reflection, rest. The ice will melt on its own.
