The Devil
The fifteenth arcanum is The Devil. The card of attachments: what gives you strength and what holds you back are often one and the same.
Upright Position
Dependence, passion, the material, a deal with a catch. The card shows what a person is chained to — sometimes with pleasure. In money questions it points to a strong resource; in questions of feelings, to an attraction that is hard to explain.
Reversed Position
Liberation: the chains turn out not to be locked, and the person walks away from what held them. Another reading is a deepening dependence, if Swords or The Moon are nearby.
In love and at work
In love — passion that can be both a support and a trap; sometimes codependency. In career — a contract on unfavorable terms, a job kept only for the money. There is money, but it comes at a high price.

Look at what is really holding you. Often it is not circumstances but habit.
