Death
The thirteenth arcanum is Death. One of the most frightening and most misunderstood cards: it is about endings, not about dying.
Upright Position
The end of a stage, release from what has outlived itself, inevitable change. Something is ending, and that will make room for something new. The card speaks not of physical death but of changes that have already begun.
Reversed Position
Resisting change: the person clings to what has ended and prolongs the agony. Another reading is a drawn-out transition: the old is gone, the new hasn't begun.
In love and at work
In love — the end of a relationship or its complete transformation; sometimes the end of an old form and the beginning of a new one. In career — leaving, closing a project, changing professions. Money: the end of one source and the appearance of another.
The card's advice
Let go. This is ending either way; the only question is whether with your help or despite it.
