55
Hexagram 55, Feng: “Abundance.” A fullness that is inevitably followed by decline.
The image of the hexagram
Below is the Li trigram (fire), above is Zhen (thunder). Thunder over fire: light and movement together, noon — the highest point.
General meaning
The answer is favorable and urgent. Feng describes the peak: maximum opportunity, light, people around you. The classic text immediately adds a word about sunset — the sun at its zenith starts to decline, so abundance must be used at once. The hexagram also warns of envy and of the crowd that gathers around success.
In love and at work
In relationships: a bright, intense period; a good moment for important steps, but not for testing how strong things are. At work: a peak, the most orders you will get, recognition; it makes sense to lock in results and build a reserve. For counting on endless growth, the answer is no.
What to do
Take as much as you can now and set a reserve aside. This height is given for a short time.
