Dragon

The Dragon is the fifth sign of the cycle and the only mythical creature among the twelve. Years: 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024, 2036.

Personality

The Dragon is the sign of grand scale and good fortune. In Chinese culture it is the most prestigious sign: in Dragon years the birth rate in China reliably rises, because many parents want a “dragon” child. That status shapes character too: the Dragon grows used to people expecting a lot from it.

The Dragon is energetic, generous and never petty. It takes on big things and easily carries others along, but it handles routine and details poorly; someone else usually finishes those for it.

Weak spot: pride. The Dragon won't admit mistakes and goes on the offensive where it would be simpler to agree.

The Gemini man and woman

The Dragon man is prominent, confident and often lucky; he needs recognition and freedom of action.

The Dragon woman is vivid and independent and won't settle for being in the background. She expects to be chosen without hesitation and has no patience for indecision.

Both are generous to loved ones and inattentive to the practical side of life.

Career and money

Anything involving publicity and scale is a good fit: leadership, entrepreneurship, advertising, politics, the stage, large projects.

Money comes and goes in large sums. Saving is hard, not because of extravagance but because of a dislike of keeping track of small things.

Compatibility

Best partners: the Rat and the Monkey, from the same trine.

The most difficult match is the Dog: its distrust of grand gestures hits the Dragon where it hurts. All pairs.
