BaZi Business Compatibility

BaZi business compatibility compares two charts the way a master does before a joint venture: who brings luck to whom, whose money luck is stronger, who should lead, and which years are lucky for both.

If the time is unknown, clear the field: the hour pillar will not be counted. Names are used only to label the result and are never sent anywhere.

What a master looks at in a business pair

  • What the partner is to you in terms of the Ten Gods. A “Wealth” partner brings deals and income, an “Officer” brings order and authority, a “Resource” brings support and knowledge. “Rob Wealth” (劫财) is the classical warning sign for shared money.
  • Whether the partner brings your useful element (用神). If their Day Master or the dominant element of their chart is what you lack, the business goes more smoothly.
  • Each person's money: how much Wealth is in the chart and whether the Day Master is strong enough to hold on to it. A strong Day Master “carries” wealth (身强能任财); a weak one with a lot of wealth loses it (身弱财多).
  • The month pillar is the career palace. In a business pair, connections between the month pillars matter more than connections between the day branches, which are the key in marriage. The hour pillar speaks of results and subordinates, the year pillar of clients and reputation.
  • Shared lucky years: which years are favorable for both of you. Those are the years to start and expand, while in years that are hard for both it is better to save money.
  • Roles: who is more natural as the leader, who should handle the finances, and where each chart is strong: money, product, management or expertise.

Three modes

Business partners: co-owners, co-founders, an investor and an entrepreneur. Manager and employee: enter the manager first; the calculator checks whether the hierarchy is natural. The best sign is when the employee sees the manager as “Direct Officer” and the manager sees the employee as “Direct Wealth.” The hierarchy is upside down when the employee is “Seven Killings” in the boss's chart: they push back and challenge decisions. Colleagues: coworkers on an equal footing and teammates on a project.

If there are more than two people

For a team, department or family of three to six people, there is BaZi group compatibility: the element balance of the whole group, who is what to whom, three-way combinations between different people, and shared lucky years.

How the charts are built

Both charts are calculated by the same engine as the BaZi calculator: the year from Lichun, the month by the solar seasons, true solar time from the longitude of the birthplace. Day Master strength and the useful elements follow the classical Zi Ping school, as in the full chart.

An Honest Look at the Method

BaZi business compatibility is a traditional way to look at how two people complement each other, but there is no verifiable evidence for it. Make decisions about business, hiring and money based on the work itself, contracts and numbers, and use the chart as a reason to discuss roles and rules.

Frequently asked questions

How is business compatibility different from couple compatibility?

In a couple, what matters most are the day branches (the spouse palaces) and the spouse stars. In business, what matters more are the Ten Gods roles, each person's money, the month pillar (the career palace) and shared lucky years. That is why the same pair can live well together and still struggle to run a business together, and vice versa.

Can I use it to check a job candidate?

You can see whether the hierarchy is natural and whether the person brings your useful element. But hiring decisions are made on experience and merit: the chart is only a reason to discuss roles and expectations.

Do I need to know the birth time?

It is better if you do. Without a time, the chart is built from three pillars, the connections of the hour pillar (results and subordinates) are not taken into account, and the Day Master's strength is estimated a little more roughly.
