BaZi Group Compatibility
BaZi group compatibility shows a team or family of three to six people as a whole: which elements are missing, who is the natural leader, who is the pillar, where the friction lies and which years are lucky for everyone.
Fill in the dates for three to six people; empty cards are ignored. If the time is unknown, clear the field. Names are only used as labels and are not sent anywhere.
How a BaZi master looks at a group
BaZi has no single “formula for three.” A master analyzes a group in several layers, and the calculator does the same:
- Element balance of the whole group. The elements of all the charts are added up: which one is missing (for example, no Metal means no discipline or follow-through) and which one there is too much of.
- Who is what to whom in terms of the Ten Gods: one table for everyone. You can see who is the “Officer” (natural authority) for most of the group, who is the “Resource” (mentor and backbone), and whose element is useful to the others: the pillar of the group.
- Pairs within the group: everyone with everyone, the easiest pair and the pair with the most friction.
- Three-way connections. The branches of three people can together form a Three Harmony combination (三合), the core of the group, or a three-way punishment (三刑), a source of grievances. You cannot see this in a pair.
- Years for the group: whose year is lucky, whose is difficult, and which years are good for joint ventures.
Team and family
The calculation is the same, but the elements mean different things. In a team, a lack of Fire means weak promotion; in a family, too little warmth and joy. The “Group” switch changes the interpretations, not the arithmetic of the charts.

A BaZi group analysis is a way to see roles and tensions in a team or family from the tradition's point of view. There is no verifiable evidence for it, so use it as a reason to talk about roles, not as a judgment of people.

How many people can I compare?

Does the calculation work for a family with children?
Yes. Choose “Family,” and the interpretations of elements and roles will be family-oriented. Children's charts are calculated the same way as adults'.
Why is there no overall percentage?
The tradition has no formula that gives a group a score. The result is built from the pairs within the group, and below you can see what it is based on: roles, elements, three-way connections and years.
