How the calculator finds a match
When a BaZi master matches a couple (合婚), they look at several signs. The calculator does the same, only for every day in the years you choose, and adds up the points:
- A Day Master combination (天干合), for example 甲 and 己 or 乙 and 庚. The classic sign of strong attraction.
- The spouse star: for a man, his wife is his “Wealth”; for a woman, her husband is her “Officer.” It’s a good sign when the partner’s Day Master is that very star.
- The spouse palace is the day branch. Six Harmony and Three Harmony combinations promise harmony in everyday life; a clash or mutual dislike promises arguments.
- Elements useful to each other (用神): whether your partner brings what you lack, and you bring what they lack.
- The year signs and other connections between the pillars add extra weight.
Why several dates instead of one
