Human Design Couple Transits

A transit is where the planets are right now on the wheel of 64 gates. The calculator overlays it on the composite chart of the two of you and shows which channels are being completed today between you and the planets, what is temporarily defined in the couple, and when in the coming month the transit will activate your gates again.

Moment

Leave the date empty to get the transit for right now; the time is taken from your device’s clock. If a birth time is unknown, clear the field: the chart will be calculated for noon. Names are used only as labels.

What the Calculation Shows

  • The couple’s composite chart with the transit — each person’s gates and the transit gates in different colors.
  • What the transit activates between you — channels where one gate is yours and the other is currently held by a planet; if both of you have that gate, the channel activates for both of you at once.
  • Today’s center formula — how many centers the couple has defined together with the transit, and which of them are new.
  • A 30-day calendar — when the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars will stand in gates that complete a channel with your gates.

How it is calculated

A full chart is built for each person, and both people’s gates are combined into a composite chart, as in Human Design compatibility. Then the 13 transit points are calculated — the Sun, the Earth, the Moon, the nodes and the planets — and for each of the 36 channels the calculator checks whether the transit holds the missing gate.

The calendar is computed in 12-hour steps and refined to the minute. The Moon changes gates roughly every 10 hours, so it is left out of the calendar, but it is included in the transit for the chosen moment.

Couple transits are an extension of the calculator, not a separate teaching of Ra’s: the technique is the same as for a transit over a single chart. According to the system, a transit is “weather”: it colors the time but doesn’t change type or authority, and decisions are not made by it.

An Honest Look at the Method

Human Design is a modern system that Ra Uru Hu described in 1987. Its rules are precisely defined and therefore calculable, but none of them has been tested as a way to describe a person or predict how relationships will turn out. We calculate by the system’s rules and write the interpretations as a description of what the system holds, not as knowledge about you. More on the system’s origins is on the Human Design page.

Frequently asked questions

Why should a couple look at transits?

According to the system, on days when a transit completes a channel between you, that channel’s theme sounds louder: it becomes easier to talk about it — or to quarrel over it. The calculator shows such days in advance.

Why isn’t the Moon in the calendar?

The Moon passes through a gate in about 10 hours, so a month-long calendar would get far too long. The Moon’s transit is visible if you choose a specific moment.

Do I need an exact birth time?

Preferably: the Moon’s gates in the charts depend on it. Without a time, the chart is calculated for noon, and this is noted in the result.
