Scythe
Card 10, the Scythe — a sudden break and a decision made in one stroke. It corresponds to the Jack of Diamonds.
Core Meaning
The Scythe means a cutoff: something that ends suddenly rather than bit by bit. To cut off, remove, break away, make up your mind. Unlike the Coffin, where the fading is gradual, the Scythe is always fast. It also signals a risk of injury and surgical intervention.
In Combinations
Scythe and Heart — an abrupt breakup; Scythe and Tree — surgery; Scythe and Crossroads — a decision to turn around and walk away.
In love and at work
In love — a sudden breakup or a decisive step. At work — a dismissal, a canceled contract, layoffs. Timing — instantly, in a single move.
