63
Hexagram 63, Ji Ji: “After Completion,” fulfillment. Perfect order: the lines alternate correctly.
The image of the hexagram
Below is the Li trigram (fire), above is Kan (water). Water over fire: water above, fire below — everything in its place, the pot is boiling.
General meaning
The answer: the goal has been reached, and from this moment a new concern begins. Ji Ji describes completion — and warns that perfect order can only be disturbed from here on. The classic text advises paying attention to small things right after a victory: that is exactly when what has been achieved gets lost. It is the only hexagram in which a good beginning is set directly against a difficult end.
In love and at work
In relationships: a balance that has been reached and needs to be maintained, not improved. At work: the project is finished, the deal is closed; what follows is operation and maintenance. For a new push, not now.
What to do
Lock in the result and keep an eye on the details. Right now, things are lost through small slips, not big mistakes.
