Sum 8 is read as an unjust reproach, or being held responsible for something you did not do.
Interpretation
The meaning is outside condemnation: you will be blamed, misjudged, or asked to answer for someone else. Tradition advises against justifying yourself, because in this situation justification is taken as an admission.
In business, the sum means a decision will be made without you and not in your favor, but the consequences can be fixed.
Probability
Three dice give 216 equally likely outcomes (6 × 6 × 6). A sum of 8 comes from 21 of them, or 9.7%.
For comparison: the most frequent sums, 10 and 11, come up 12.5% of the time, and the rarest, 3 and 18, 0.46% of the time.
The closer a sum is to the middle, the more often it comes up, and the traditional interpretations take this into account: the extreme sums have the sharpest meanings.
