Sum 7 is read as gossip, talk and other people’s interference.
Interpretation
The traditional meaning is trouble caused by other people’s words: tittle-tattle, rumors, a damaged reputation, a third person meddling in your affairs. The matter itself does not necessarily fail — it is the people around it who get in the way.
A second, less common reading is the need to keep quiet: what you are about to say will be turned against you.
Probability
Three dice give 216 equally likely outcomes (6 × 6 × 6). A sum of 7 comes from 15 of them, or 6.9%.
For comparison: the most frequent sums, 10 and 11, come up 12.5% of the time, and the rarest, 3 and 18, 0.46% of the time.
The closer a sum is to the middle, the more often it comes up, and the traditional interpretations take this into account: the extreme sums have the sharpest meanings.
