The image of the hexagram
Below is the Xun trigram (wind), above is Kun (earth). Earth over wind: a tree grows up out of the earth — rising without jolts.
General meaning
The answer is favorable. Sheng speaks of advancement that happens step by step and is therefore stable: not a sudden takeoff, but growth. The classic text advises going forward without fear and meeting with the powerful — in this situation you will be received. The only caution concerns pace: you cannot skip steps.
In love and at work
In relationships: a gradual, reliable coming together, a relationship that grows stronger over time. At work: career growth, business development, building your skills. For instant results, no.
What to do
Take the next step without skipping the one before it, and approach someone above you. Right now, doors will open.
