Via
Via (Way) — four single points, the most mobile figure in geomancy. It stands for a road, change, and moving from one state to another.
Structure of the figure
Latin name: Via. Traditional ruler: the Moon.
| Line | Points | Element of the line |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | one | Fire |
| 2 | one | Air |
| 3 | one | Water |
| 4 | one | Earth |
Active (single-point) lines: 4 of 4. The more there are, the more mobile the figure: a single point means an active element, a double point a resting one.
Meaning
All four elements are active, so Via doesn't describe a state — it describes a transition. In the shield the figure means the matter will definitely change, but doesn't say whether for better or worse: the direction is set by the neighboring figures and the position.
The second meaning is solitude on the road: Via travels alone, without companions. To the question “can things stay as they are,” the answer is no.
In questions about love and money
In love — a change in the relationship, a trip, sometimes one of the two leaving. In money — movement of funds: coming in and going out, not accumulation. To a question about timing, it answers “soon.”
