Shoe in Coffee Grounds
Travel and marriage. This is an ambiguous sign: its meaning is decided by its place and the neighboring shapes.
Core Meaning
A shoe means travel and change. In the Russian tradition, a little shoe is a sign of marriage: think of the Yuletide custom of tossing a shoe over the gate to see which way your future husband will come from. A pair of shoes means a journey for two.
In Love and Business
In love. Marriage, moving in with a loved one.
In business and money. A business trip, a change of place.
Where It Lies in the Cup
- Near the handle: the sign concerns you yourself: how it turns out depends largely on you.
- Opposite the handle: this will come from outside; whether for good or ill, the neighboring shapes will tell.
- To the right or left of the handle: on the right, the sign is gaining strength; on the left, its influence is fading.
- At the rim and on the sides: at the rim, within the coming days and weeks; on the sides, within the coming months.
- On the bottom: what has already taken shape and lies at the foundation of the situation, or the distant future.
- Clarity: a clear, large shape is a sure and important sign; a blurry one means the event may still pass you by. Dots around a shape link its meaning to money.
In Combinations
A shoe and a Road mean a journey you will soon hear about; by Russian folk belief, marriage in that direction.
