Kua 1 is the Kan trigram, the Water element, north. East group. The best direction for work is southeast; for health, east.

How to apply it at home
Turn your desk to face southeast — the direction of growth for Kua 1. Place the bed with the headboard to the east or north.
Traditionally, a 1 is advised to have water in the interior: water is its element and is considered supportive in itself. Metal nourishes water, so metal decor in the northern area strengthens the effect, while too much earth — large ceramics, heavy stone surfaces — weakens it.
What to keep in mind
Southwest is the Jue Ming direction for a 1, and it's exactly the direction most often occupied by the kitchen in standard apartments. You don't need to move the kitchen because of it: in the tradition it's enough not to point your headboard or workspace that way.
