The Birch occupies a single day, June 24: in this scheme it is linked to the summer solstice, although the solstice itself falls on June 20–21. In Slavic and Celtic tradition it is the tree of light and of beginnings.

The Birch is credited with clarity, modesty and a quiet charm. It does not try to stand out, but it gets noticed.

The weak spot is a reluctance to take responsibility and a habit of avoiding conflict. It gets along well with the Linden and the Willow, and has a harder time with the Ash and the Oak.
